Korean Address

Have you ever even seen an address so long? It’s crazy. People don’t even send us mail because it’s too daunting to fill this out. Will it even fit on an envelope if I try to send them a letter? No one knows. And we supposedly have to write this out on the arrival card every time we come back from a trip and land in Korea. No thanks. There are so many people living here that they have to break everything down. So, in addition to the postal code at the bottom, it has our province (do) Gyonggi. Our city (shi) is Goyang. Goyang is really a suburb of one of Seoul’s satellite cities, Ilsan, but that part isn’t in our address I guess. So we are living in the suburb of a suburb pretty much. Goyang is broken down even more into gu, or districts, and that is broken down into even more dong. Ours is Hwajeong, or spelled many different wants in English. That’s the name of our subway stop too. The rest is just where my school is, since the address for our apartment is even longer and harder to memorize. So efficient.
